Transformation of the city Jičín

The concept promotes the positive aspects of the city while eliminating the negative existing traffic situation.
The city of Jičín is surrounded by greenery, creating pleasant attributes for living and life in the city.
The new proposed development is based on the original structure of the built-up area /see the surviving map from the 1842 archive/ and at the same time responds to the established traffic directions and movement of the inhabitants.
In addition to traffic, which is key to the concept, the design is conceived from the perspective of the pedestrian, resident, and visitor to Jičín. Pedestrian routes have their own clear logic. The communication artery connecting the train and bus stations flows naturally to the main square, which is about 10 minutes’ walk away. The green promenade with its emphasis on parterre and well-being is an ideal welcome for newcomers as well as a diversification of the everyday life for the city’s residents.
The pedestrian walks through the newly created area, which is essentially one large park supplemented by buildings with everyday functions. It is the shops, restaurants, cafés and galleries that create the urban environment and atmosphere.
At the nodes of the newly created crossroads of roads and green spaces, new volumes are growing, based on the structure and needs of the city. Urbanistically inadequate and technically poor buildings are being demolished.
